Blue stars dog belly band

A practical wrap style with a bright blue-star pattern.

What is a dog belly band?

A belly band is a fabric wrap that fits around the waist of a male dog. Designs may use an absorbent lining or a removable pad. They are sometimes used as a management aid for marking or minor accidents, but they are not a substitute for veterinary advice or appropriate toilet training.

A blue-stars design adds a playful look to an otherwise practical accessory. What matters most is a comfortable, secure fit, easy washing and absorbent materials appropriate for the dog’s needs.

The band should be changed promptly when wet. Leaving damp fabric against the skin can irritate it, so check the skin regularly and make sure the garment is properly dry before reuse.

Choosing the right fit

Measure the waist at the position where the band will sit. Follow the sizing chart and allow enough room for normal movement without leaving the wrap loose enough to slide.

Avoid abrasive seams, sharp fastenings and bulky parts that could rub during walking or resting.

When to ask a vet

A change in toileting habits, frequent accidents or signs of discomfort should be investigated. A belly band can help with hygiene in some situations but does not address the cause of a medical issue.

Remove the wrap during regular checks and keep the area clean and dry.
